zwarte piet
Zwarte Piet

Portraits of the historical figure of Black Pete who plays servant to Sinta Klaas in the Dutch Christmas myth. These startling portraits of velvet-clad white women and children blacked-up as Zwarte Piet playfully reveal an ambiguous character who sits uncomfortably in European history.
Cockroach diary

A diary work exposing the tragic comedy that unfolds when a shared London home is invaded by cockroaches between 1996 and 1999. An autobiographical story with colour photographs of cockroaches accompanied by a diary recording the dysfunctional relationships between the occupants of 41 Hewitt Road in Finsbury Park.
